In my former life, I was a professional photographer that got to capture many happy couples; engagements, weddings, and families.
Then, I retired.
No, really!
I think….
At least for now…….
And I guess it wasn’t really that much of a former life (last month). But whenever it was, this is what I did, and I share you with you three of my wonderful couples, which is the theme from Where’s my backpack? this week.
I hope you enjoy these glimmers and shimmers of romance.
Engaged couple: Sandi Jo and John
Wedding: Alison & Jay
Wedding: Rachel & Matt
It was fun. It was magical. It was everything that makes a heart pitter, patter, and pound.
Love is not just looking at each other, it’s looking in the same direction.

When I think of couples, I think of them, and what an honor it was to witness these incredible moments in their lives.

What a great experience to have had.
Very much so! I hope to continue this quest one day.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Loved the glimpse…
Ah! Thank-you dear, it is fun to remember my little side career.
Former life…last month! You have such a sense of humor.
Nice photos.
Time flies! HA.
Wonderfull!!!!
Thank you
Claude
You are welcome. Love is sweet, right?
Makes life exciting when you can talk about my other life last month…great moments beautifully captured!
I try to keep it exciting. I like to dabble in lots of things. Right now, I am concentrating on organization. Fun! (okay not really, but it will be nice when completed)
Beautiful photographs. It’s lovely to see the variety of couples you have photographed. My favourite picture is the first one. A very strong image.
That is definitely my favorite too. The B&W made it a completely different photograph. It was a wonderful couple.
I like the white rose one because the “focus” is on the love , the greater concept than the mere union of two people but I do not mean to disparage or minimize the beauty of the relationship for fortunate people as these.
I call that my artsy photo, but I like it too. It focuses on the wedding part with their first dance in the background.
Angelia, what I truly loved about these photos is that you really captured the EMOTION of the moment – ROMANCE!
Such diverse photos. You’re very talented with both color and black and white.
I think my favorite one is the fourth one down because I see it all in her eyes!
Well done, my friend!
Thanks Ron! Yes, that was the ceremony. The couple had an intense love that showed in their dancing, and when they were together. Their passion was literally visible. So much love!
Your couple shots just shine through… very warm and loving.
Thank-you so much. It is very easy to capture when it is so evident.
It has to be wonderful to photograph couples on a day they will remember forever. Great photos of Couples
It really is! It is a lot of work, but beautiful to witness.
It takes real talent to capture love in a photo the way you do. Retired indeed!
Oh goodness! Thank-you! I don’t think I am very talented, but I do love taking photos. These make me smile.
How wonderful that you were a party to their romance, and able to capture it on film.
It was very much a blessing. The two wedding couples were a few months apart, but the brides are sisters. I feel like part of the family now.
I love your b&w wedding images Angelia…they are really stunning. and the first couple – so cute
Thanks Jo. I had a lot fun with these happy people.
Lovely pictures!
Thanks dear! Not as yummy as yours, but enjoyable all the same.
Yes, definitely, my favorite is the black and white of Alison looking at Jay! So much tenderness there.
The ceremony moments are so incredible to witness.
It’s a beautiful thing to be a part of.
It really was. Some moments are overwhelming, others I hope I don’t mess up and miss it! HA.
oh i like romantic photo documentaries – that was emotional
Thank-you, I used to use more words, now I use more photos. Seems like both are expressed in similar ways.
What made you retire? Better answer this! Hehe….
Love the last one, esp. with how you started the post. Are they looking at a gum stuck to one of their shoes? Don’t answer that one. Hehe
Just don’t have the time while I’m working my full-time job.
Maybe when I retire from that job. HA.
Romance! It never gets old does it? I know you’ll miss it. What a shame, because you do great work!
P.S. Form won’t allow me to paste my address and I’m too lazy to type it, it’s me, Mom of the Perpetually Grounded, and I typed all that instead ; )
Awe, thanks Ms. G! I still have my kiddos and my furry munchkins to keep busy. Plus, I hope to do more nature photography around here.
Wow! Just beautiful. Angelia you have so beautifully captured some precious moments of these beautiful couples. They are really lucky to have your presence there to capture these moment of lifetime so beautifully.
Thank-you my dear and kind Arindam! I hope my images help them remember their moment forever. No divorce allowed. Heh!
Ha Ha!
That’s one of the best condition someone can apply on them. I wish I could be in those lucky people’s list, so that you could have helped me remembering my share of moments forever with your wonderful photography.
I’m sure you will be back at it when you have time. Are Allison and Jay dancers? Looks like they are West Coast Swinging.
Beautiful photos!
Yes, they met in dance class and they were SO SO GOOD. All their college friends could dance too. It was very entertaining with lifts, twists, turns and everything. They were awesome.
Fun stuff. It is very cool that you were witness to all of the wonderful times!
Beautiful couple. You definitely captured the joy, love and passion of the moment.
I always enjoy your stories and images and this one is included…happy moments captured on film is a wonderful keepsake and one hopes to treasure forever…and not be torn and cast away like so many relationships these days. *sigh*
Love your mix of couples…
